A slice of heaven!!
We were so glad to book with Ohi'a Estate! Since we live on a budget, we were wondering if the EXTRAS were really important. The extras are what set this Bed and Breakfast apart from the rest.

We experienced four course breakfasts which filled us up so we didn't eat but a nice dinner in the evening. Daily room treats of chocolate covered macadamia nuts, dates, fruit, and bottled water were waiting each night when we returned from our day with chocolates on our pillows. Every day they also filled our refrigerator with diet Coke, fruit juices, sparkling water, candy bars, and potato chips....all complimentary!! There was a coffee pot and coffee included in each room. When we arrived, there was a lovely fresh bouquet of flowers on the coffee table. Take the advice they give for where to eat and what to do. They are dead on for excellence in that field. There is no air conditioning but did not feel would have ever used it. If you love nature noises at night, you will love this place. Frogs and birds sing all night. We brought ear plugs but did not have to use. We closed the windows.

Robert and Daniel are super friendly! They go out of their way in making your stay the best it can possibly be. We hope we can come back again. We usually stay at a hotel on the beach but enjoyed this much more!!! This is a very safe community with a gated driveway.

A few suggestions that are a must when on the Big Island. Snorkeling excursion to Captain Cook Monument, visiting the Volcano area especially the lava flow over the road near Pahoa, snorkeling Honaunua Bay(Two Step) and Kahalu'u Beach, which are both free and easy access. I would recommend a car because there is so much to see and do!! Free parking.
Already Planning Our Next Trip Back
Our stay at Ohi’a Park Estate was nothing short of exceptional. It was my fiancé and I’s first time visiting the big island, and Robert and Daniel, the wonderful proprietors, were a big part of making our experience on the island so enjoyable. From the beautiful accommodations at Ohi’a, to the thoughtful and specific suggestions they gave us on restaurants, beaches and activities that were suited to our taste, they guided us very well during our stay.

We travel often have stayed at many types of hotels, vacations rentals, and everything in between. We both agreed that staying here had the best of both worlds. The rooms are very clean, stylish and luxurious with the standards of a luxury European hotel, mixed with the Aloha spirit. Then you add in the thoughtful hosts who guide you and prepare delicious food for you, and you feel like you are staying at a good friend’s home (a friend with very good taste). Some of my favorite touches in the suites were the very large stone showers with rainfall shower heads, high end toiletries, and delicious complimentary snacks that were replenished each day. With the amazing breakfast served each day and the snacks from your room, some days we felt satisfied until dinner. That really added to the value of our stay.

I think many other reviewers have mentioned the breakfast here, but I have to add that this is my favorite breakfast I have ever had while traveling. Each day breakfast was slightly customized with the most elegantly arranged fruit platters, high quality organic coffee, a tasty assortment of cheeses, meats, breads and pastries, yogurt and fresh fruit juice. They also took a custom order for eggs, and every day we chose to have the most delicious omelette that they carefully prepared for us. I chose to have no meat most days in mine, which they happily obliged to. It was seasoned and prepared so well I would literally take a bite and close my eyes to savor the flavors. Surrounded by the peaceful grounds and sounds of nature, this was truly a blissful slice of heaven. The manner in which they serve breakfast is very thoughtful and sweet and we felt very cared for. Robert and Daniel are kind and lighthearted hosts who will make you feel very welcome.

After staying at Ohi’a Park Estate for four nights, I felt truly rested, rejuvenated and restored. If you get the chance to stay here, treat yourself and go for it. You will not regret it. We loved this place so much we are already planning our next trip back!
Returning guests here. Three years on the standards are as high as ever!
We had our first experience with the Ohi’a Park Estate three years ago when my wife and I spent a few days here as part of our honeymoon trip to the Hawaiian islands. We decided to come back to this jewel box of a bread and breakfast this year.

The attention to detail, cleanliness, and warm hospitality of the hosts were just as surprisingly perfect as three years ago, if not better. The rooms still look like they were just finished being outfitted, the furniture feel like you are the first guest ever using them. You won’t find chips on the ceilings, scratches on the walls, not even a smear anywhere - inside or outside.

The five things that characterize the Ohi’a experience in our opinion are kindness, serenity, discretion, attention to detail, and amazing hospitality. See below for some highlights about each.

Kindness
Besides fresh fruits and luxury macadamia bonbons neatly arranged, we found a bottle of chilled Chardonnay placed in an ice bucket on our table when we arrived. Special gift from the hosts for returning guests as we learned later.

Serenity
This is an immaculately maintained compound of pristine beauty with an array of trees, flowers, and other vegetation that are characteristic and unique to Hawaii. The entire place is relaxing and calm with a comfortable distance away from the main roads.

Discretion
We noticed that both the hosts and other guests behave respectfully and with lots of regard to others around them. We haven’t heard a single loud voice, music, or TV in our 5 days of staying there.

Attention to detail
The attention to detail is unparalleled. The cleaning staff spends approx. 45 minutes on every room daily to clean and tidy them as thoroughly as imaginable. The 3-course breakfast with sculpted fruit salads, bread and pastry selections, optional egg choices and granola concoctions served by the hosts in perfect synchrony is up to the highest standards you’ll ever experience in a bread and breakfast - and possibly anywhere.

Great hosts
Daniel and Robert know every corner of the Big Island and will be happy to help but they never intrude. Theirs is a style of intelligent easy-politeness with a sense of humor and a desire to assist their guests in making great memories. We were grateful for their kindness and felt a real sense of heartache when we had to say our good byes.

My wife and I fell in love with this place again and have already started planning our next trip to return soon.

Unforgettable and highly recommended!
